VENUE - Amerpodia Rode Hoed

Discover the Rode Hoed on the Keizersgracht, the largest former clandestine church in the Netherlands. Behind these facades lies a unique location with the Oosterhuiszaal, perhaps the most mediagenic hall in Amsterdam. With its combination of grandeur and intimacy, and excellent acoustics, this venue is ideal for events. Welcome to the Rode Hoed, where history and modernity come together for unforgettable events.

Amerpodia uses the proceeds from the rental of the houses to facilitate the cultural programming and keep it accessible to the widest possible audience. In this cultural house on the canal, you can find leading speakers who share their ideas and insights with a diverse audience. Once a hidden church, this is now a safe haven for critical and curious thinkers and doers.

When visiting the Rode Hoed on the famous Keizersgracht in Amsterdam, you would not expect that behind the facades of this monumental building is the largest former clandestine church in the Netherlands. Nowadays it is a stage for deepening, debate and inspiration, and a popular location for events that create atmosphere and character.

This former clandestine church from the seventeenth century is the largest of its kind in the Netherlands. A unique location with wooden pillars, authentic woodwork and two balconies. A former priest discovered in 1989 that the building was empty and turned the function into a meeting place for discussion. This room is named after the co-founder of the Rode Hoed, Huub Oosterhuis, the father of Trijntje Oosterhuis.
